WHAT IS A CERTIFIED USED CAR?
What is a certified used car? When we call something a Certified Used Vehicle, it’s more than just a fancy way of saying “used car.” According to the Chrysler Canada Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program, pre-owned certified cars must meet a series of eligibility requirements:
- A Certified used car must have 180,000kms or less, and be less than six years old
- A Certified Used Car or Truck must be fully inspected and found to be mechanically sound by Armstrong Dodge
- It cannot have been declared an insurance loss, or have retained significant damage due to collision
- It cannot have been modified from the original manufacturer specifications
Vehicles that have been damaged, viewed as an insurance write-off, or were abused with severe towing or off-road use will never qualify.

Vehicle Inspection and Reconditioning
Every vehicle that qualifies must undergo a thorough inspection of all mechanical components, exterior features and safety systems. From the engine and transmission to the exhaust system, every component is carefully examined to be in good condition.
If any component is found to be sub-standard, the requisite reconditioning will bring it back to standard. As part of the reconditioning process, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles will receive a full detailing and inspection of the interior, exterior, paint and underbody.
Limited Exchange Policy
To give you the utmost confidence in your purchase, you are provided with a one-time exchange policy to ensure that your Certified Used vehicle is exactly what you want. If you decide for any reason that it doesn’t meet your needs, simply return it within three days or five-hundred kilometers (whichever comes first) and we’ll help you find a replacement that’s perfect for you.
Roadside Assistance
With your Certified Vehicle purchase you will have access to Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep roadside assistance across Canada. One toll-free call will bring help 24-hours a day anywhere in Canada or the continental USA. Some delays may be expected in severe weather conditions.
The Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Roadside assistance program includes:
- Towing: IF your vehicle cannot be driven due to mechanical issues not related to an accident, it can be towed at no charge to the nearest Chrysler retailer for repairs.
- Winching: If your vehicle is stuck in the ditch adjacent to a publicly-maintained roadway, it can be winched to safety and towed if required.
- Flat tire change: If you have a flat tire, your spare will be installed, or you will be towed to the nearest service destination.
- Run out of fuel: if your tank runs dry, a small amount can be delivered for free to your location.
- Dead Battery: Jumping assistance will be provided.
- Lockout: Help will be sent up to a maximum of 100km to your location.
Rental Vehicles and Substitute Transportation
If you require a loaner car while your Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep is repaired at a Chrysler repair shop the cost of your substitute transportation will be covered for up to fifty dollars per day, for no more than five days (maximum per occurrence).
